
Before you crucify me, hear me out. I love Mondays. I don't know if it's due to the recent shift in my mentality, getting old or a mix of both. Either way, I look forward to 7 AM on Monday mornings these days.
When I walk into the gym on a Monday morning after my first shift of the week, I see a week's worth of new challenges. Whether it's trying to get stronger, faster, walk farther or to just pick up heavy things until my mind is clear. Plus, I sleep so much better during the day. I love being in the gym. I used to just go through the motions until I changed my mindset to, "Mondays set the tone." Not just for my gym regimen, but for my week altogether.
I beat the saying, "Mondays set the tone," into my head until I believed it. They aren't so bad. We've grown accustomed to scoffing at them because we became a society that lives for the weekend. I often dread Sundays the way you normals do Mondays. We're human after all.
It works wonders when you view the small wins or constructing the week's goals on Mondays as setting the tone for your week. We all have our bad days. Mental health, work life or just life itself is kicking us in the cajones. If you make it through it, it's a win. I used to live for Friday. Not so much these days. Loving Monday has made me love every other day of the week. In return, it's made me love my life even more. Find a way to love and enjoy your Monday, then apply that mindset to every other day of the week. Life truly is beautiful.
